National Teddy Bear Day is celebrated every year on September 9th. The song, ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ was written in 1907, after teddy bears were first manufactured in America and Europe. The American toy bears named Teddy, in honor and respect of President Theodore Roosevelt, who once refused to shoot a small captured bear when he was on a hunting trip. Many teddy bears have become famous in these years, like Paddington Bear, Rupert Bear, Pudsey Bear and Winnie the Pooh.
